These are the official rules (the "Official Rules") for Big Tourney Promotion (the "Promotion"). The Promotion is sponsored by Fantastic Sports, LLC ("Sponsor"). Any and all advertisers associated with the Promotion are referred to in these Official Rules as "Promoters."
-
Description of the Promotion. The Promotion encompasses the skill-based, bracketed tournaments ("Tourneys") described in these Official Rules. Tourneys are designed to reward entrants ("Entrants") acting as fantasy sports team managers who best demonstrate their knowledge of the professional sports affiliation or league (the "Sport") affiliated with the Tourney in which they are participating.
-
Eligibility.
- The Promotion is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada who have reached the age of majority in their states of residence, which is 18 years of age in all states except Alabama (19) and Mississippi (21), and shall be construed and evaluated according to United States law. Void in Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, Vermont, Puerto Rico, Guam, and other U.S. territories and foreign territories. Void where prohibited by law.

-
How to play.
-
Tourney Types. The Promotion offers three different types of Tourneys ("Tourney Types"): "Big Tourneys," "Satellite Tourneys" and "Side Tourneys." All three Tourney Types are operated in the same manner and follow the same rules except where noted otherwise in these Official Rules.
-
Big Tourneys.Tourneys that are denoted "Big Tourneys" have the following differences from Satellite Tourneys and Side Tourneys: Big Tourneys (1) award large cash prizes; (2) may be run with fewer than the maximum number of Entries; and (3) allow two different means to acquire an Entry. The two different ways an Entrant may gain entry into a Big Tourney are to (1) purchase an Entry by paying the Big Tourney entry fee; (2) win an Entry by finishing in one of the qualifying positions of a Satellite Tourney. Big Tourneys are also known on the website as "MAIN EVENT" tourneys.
-
Satellite Tourneys.Tourneys that are denoted "Satellite Tourneys" have the following differences from Big Tourneys and Side Tourneys: Satellite Tourneys (1) award as prizes free entries into Big Tourneys; (2) must fill before they can be run.
-
Side Tourneys.Tourneys that are denoted "Side Tourneys" have the following differences from Big Tourneys and Satellite Tourneys: Side Tourneys (1) are not affiliated with Big Tourneys; (2) award cash and other merchandise as prizes; (3) must fill before they can be run. Side Tourneys are also known on the website as "INSTANT CASH" tourneys.

-
How To Enter A Tourney. To enter a Tourney, use a web browser to visit URL http://games.fantasyplanet.com/tourneys. Click a Tourney that has status "OPEN," then click the "Enter this tourney!" button and follow the on-screen directions.
-
Entry Deadline. Each Tourney has an entry deadline ("Entry Deadline") that is usually 15 minutes before the Tourney is scheduled to start. Each Tourney's Entry Deadline is listed on the Tourney's summary web page. No Entries will be accepted after the Entry Deadline. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate any Tourney that does not accumulate the minimum number of Entries by the Entry Deadline. Satellite Tourneys and Side Tourneys must completely fill by their Entry Deadlines. The minimum number of entries for Big Tourneys is listed in the Tourney Termination section of these Official Rules. The summary web page for a Big Tourney will also list its minimum number of Entries if it has not yet reached its minimum.
-
Entry Lock-In and the Entry Lock-In Deadline.A Tourney's "Lock-In Deadline" is exactly twenty-four hours before the Tourney's Entry Deadline. No Entrant will be granted a refund of the Tourney entry fee after the Lock-In Deadline or after the Tourney has stopped accepting Entries, whichever occurs first. In the case of Big Tourneys, Sponsor reserves the right to stop accepting Entries for a Tourney and begin the Tourney at any time if it has reached its minimum number of Entries. See the "Tourney Termination" section of these Official Rules for more information regarding the minimum number of Entries required by a Big Tourney.
-
Starting a Tourney Early. If a Tourney reaches its maximum number of Entries at least twenty-four hours before the beginning of a set of Events that occurs earlier than the set of Events originally scheduled to be included in the first Round of the Tourney, then the Tourney will be rescheduled to begin earlier than originally scheduled, such that the first Round will use the earlier set of Events. Entrants will be notified of the schedule change via email.
-
-
How To Qualify For A Big Tourney Via Satellite Tourney. Each Satellite Tourney will award as prizes one or more Entries in its affiliated Big Tourney. The Satellite Tourney's summary web page will list (1) how many Big Tourney Entries will be awarded and (2) with which Big Tourney the Satellite Tourney is affiliated. The top Teams in the Satellite Tourney will be chosen for awards according to the Scoring and Ranking section in these Official Rules. The number of Teams chosen for awards will be dictated by the number of qualifying positions being awarded by the Satellite Tourney. The Entrants owning those Teams will each win one Entry in the affiliated Big Tourney for each qualified Team owned by the Entrant.
-
Tourney Structure.
-
Rounds/Regions/Leagues.
-
Leagues.A League is a collection of up to ten teams. Three teams per League will advance to the next Round. Teams will be placed randomly into Leagues in the first Round, but all Leagues will maintain the same number of Teams within a difference of one Team. If a Tourney stops accepting Entries and is run with a non-maximum number of Entries, some or all Leagues will have fewer than ten teams. After the first Round, whether the Tourney started full or not, all Leagues will always have exactly ten Teams.
-
Regions.A Region is a collection of three Leagues. Each Region will advance ten teams into the next Round: three teams from each of the Region's three Leagues and one Regional wild card team. The ten teams that advance from a Region will be placed together in a new League in the next Round.
-
Rounds.A Round is an encapsulation of a Tourney's non-eliminated Teams, a Gameplay Cycle, and a schedule of sporting Events.
-
Rounds in a Tourney.
- Each Tourney is made up of one or more Rounds.
- Each Tourney's Rounds are conducted serially, meaning only one Round is run per Tourney at a time.
-
Teams in a Round.
- A Round contains all Teams still alive at that point in the Tourney, divided into Leagues and Regions as detailed above.
- An Entrant's goal is to advance his Entry from one Round to the next until he has reached the final Round.
- Three Teams per League and ten Teams per Region will advance to the next Round. The Teams that fail to advance will be eliminated from the Tourney.
-
A Round's Gameplay Cycle. Each Round encapsulates one full cycle of gameplay ("Gameplay Cycle"). A Gameplay Cycle includes:
- A readjustment of player salaries based on current Sport season statistics.
- A period of time for Entrants to set Team lineups.
- A period of time for the Events included in the Round to play out.
- Scoring of all Teams in the Round.
- Advancing Teams to the next Round.
-
A Round's Schedule of Events. Each Round in a Tourney, depending on the Sport affiliated with that Tourney, includes a set of ball games or motor races ("Events") that will be included in that Round's scoring. The Events included in the Round will be listed on the Team's "Lineup Selection" web page. The set of Events included in a Round's scoring will usually (but does not necessarily) include ALL the Events in that Sport during the Round's Gameplay Cycle. Any Event not listed in the Round's schedule of Events will not be included in the Round's scoring.
-
Rounds in NFL Tourneys. Each NFL Tourney will use a Gameplay Cycle that encompasses one weekend of games. Each Gameplay Cycle starts on Tuesday morning and lasts one calendar week.
-
Rounds in MLB Tourneys. Each MLB Tourney will use one of two Gameplay Cycles. Each Gameplay Cycle lasts one calendar week.
-
The Mon-Thu cycle. If a Tourney is set to use the Mon-Thu cycle, each Round will only include games scheduled to be played Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Entrants will use Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to set their Teams' lineups for the upcoming games.
-
The Fri-Sun cycle. If a Tourney is set to use the Fri-Sun cycle, it will only use games scheduled to be played Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during each Round. Entrants will use Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to set their Teams' lineups.
-
-
Rounds in NASCAR Tourneys. Each NASCAR Tourney will use a Gameplay Cycle that encompasses one race. A new Round begins the morning following the previous Round's race, and the time leading up to the next race is used by Entrants to set their Teams' lineups.

-
-
Round-By-Round Cut-Downs.
-
Each Tourney, at its maximum capacity, will start with total Entries numbering either 21,870, 7,290, 2,430, 810, 270, 90, 30 or 10. Each Round of a Tourney advances one-third of its Teams and eliminates the other two-thirds.
- A Round that starts with 21,870 Teams advances 7,290 to the next Round.
- A Round that starts with 7,290 Teams advances 2,430 to the next Round.
- A Round that starts with 2,430 Teams advances 810 to the next Round.
- A Round that starts with 810 Teams advances 270 to the next Round.
- A Round that starts with 270 Teams advances 90 to the next Round.
- A Round that starts with 90 Teams advances 30 to the next Round.
- A Round that starts with 30 Teams advances 10 to the next Round.
- Teams that advance out of a Round form a new Round and play again. The new Round again advances one-third of those teams to the next Round and eliminates the rest.
- The process repeats until 10 Entries remain.
- The ten finalists compete in the final Round for the Tourney championship.
- Example: A 270-team, 4-round tourney starts. Ninety teams advance from the first round to the second round. After the second round, 30 teams remain. After three rounds, 10 teams remain. The ten finalists compete in the final round for the tourney championship.
- Any Team that is eliminated from the Tourney is done competing in that Tourney. A tourney ranking is generated for each eliminated Entry based on the Round it reached and its total points scored in the entire Tourney. The tourney ranking is used to determine each Entry's finishing position.
-
Each Tourney, at its maximum capacity, will start with total Entries numbering either 21,870, 7,290, 2,430, 810, 270, 90, 30 or 10. Each Round of a Tourney advances one-third of its Teams and eliminates the other two-thirds.
-
-
Team Lineups. Each Round, every non-eliminated Entrant will submit a lineup.
-
Lineup Deadline. The "Lineup Deadline" is five minutes before the start of the first Event in the Round's schedule of Events. There is no limit to the number of lineup changes allowed before the Lineup Deadline. No lineup changes will be allowed after the Lineup Deadline. The Lineup Deadline is listed on each Team's lineup web page.
-
Salary Cap.The Entrant must choose from among a list of players to compose his Team's lineup. Each player will have an assigned salary value that is determined by the Sponsor and listed with the player on the website. The Entrant must compose a lineup of players whose salaries total no more than the Tourney's weekly salary cap. The Tourney's salary cap will be listed on its summary web page.
-
Lineup Configuration. Each Team's lineup must be composed of players in the following configuration:
-
NFL Tourneys.2 quarterbacks (QB), 3 running backs (RB), 4 wide receivers (WR), 2 tight ends (TE), 1 kicker (K)
-
MLB Tourneys.1 catcher (C), 1 first baseman (1B), 1 second baseman (2B), 1 shortstop (SS), 1 third baseman (3B), 1 utility infielder (IF), 4 outfielders (OF), 3 starting pitchers (SP), 1 relief pitcher (RP)
-
NASCAR Tourneys.6 drivers (D)
- The Sponsor reserves the right to change the lineup criteria from those listed in these Official Rules for any given Tourney, so Entrants should carefully review the lineup criteria to be used in the Tourney before entering the Tourney or setting a Team's lineup. The lineup criteria to be used by any given Tourney is listed on the Tourney's summary web page. The lineup criteria for a Tourney will never change once it has been opened to the public for entry except in the case where an error needs to be corrected or a lineup criterium clarified.
-
-
Validity of Lineups.A Team with an invalid lineup will score 0 points for that Round.
-
A Team's lineup will be considered invalid for any of the following reasons:
- The number of players at any one position is greater than the maximum allowed at that position.
- The total number of players is greater than the maximum allowed.
- The sum of the players' salaries is greater than the Tourney's salary cap.
-
A Team's lineup will not be considered invalid for any of the following reasons:
- The total number of players is fewer than the maximum allowed.
- A Team that advances to the next Round could have its lineup invalidated when it advances, because player salary values will be adjusted at the same time. It is the Entrant's sole responsibility to monitor his Team's lineup and make adjustments to bring his lineup into compliance with these Official Rules.
-
A Team's lineup will be considered invalid for any of the following reasons:
-
-
Scoring and Ranking.
- After the completion of a Round's schedule of Events, all Teams in the Round will be scored according to the scoring criteria listed below. A Team's score is the sum of its players' individual scores.
-
Individual scores will be tallied using the following scoring criteria.
-
NFL Tourneys.
-
Passing Criteria.Score 1 point per 20 yards; 4 points per touchdown; 4 bonus points per touchdown of 40 yards or more; -2 points per interception.
-

-
NASCAR Tourneys.
- Score 1 point for each "Cup Championship Point" awarded to the driver by NASCAR. The Cup Championship Points system is documented at the NASCAR.com website. It includes a tiered point system based on finish order, with bonus points awarded for leading a lap and leading the most laps.
- Score 1 point for each position improvement from race-start to race-finish. Example: A driver who starts the race in 19th position and finishes in 11th position improved 8 positions and therefore scores 8 points.
- There is no penalty for losing positions or failing to finish the race.
- The low individual score per Team is dropped, so only the top 5 drivers' scores will count toward the Team's total score. NOTE: NASCAR Tourneys only!
- The Sponsor reserves the right to change the scoring criteria from those listed in these Official Rules for any given Tourney, so Entrants should carefully review the scoring criteria to be used in the Tourney before entering the Tourney or setting a Team's lineup. The scoring criteria to be used by any given Tourney is listed on the Tourney's summary web page under the tab marked "Scoring System." The scoring system for a Tourney will never change once it has been opened to the public for entry except in the case where an error needs to be corrected or a scoring criterium clarified.
-
Breaking Ties.Tied scores will be broken using the following tiebreakers, in this order.
-
Team Salary. The Team with the lowest total salary will be declared the winner.
-
Total Tourney Points. If ties remain, the Team with the most total points accumulated in all Rounds of the Tourney to date will be declared the winner.
-
Lineup Submission Date.If ties still remain, the Team whose final Team lineup change was submitted the earliest will be declared the winner. Example: If an Entrant submits a Team's lineup at 11 AM ET on Wednesday then later submits a lineup change at 2 PM ET on Thursday, the Team's final lineup change time for the purposes of the tiebreaker will be the Thursday time. When a Team advances into the next Round, its Lineup Submission Date inherits the Lineup Submission Date from the completed Round; therefore a lineup that remains unchanged from the previous Round will have a Lineup Submission Date from the previous Round.
-
- For purposes of the Promotion, the Sponsor shall be deemed the official scorer and timer, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects.
-
-
Advancing to the Next Round.

-
One Wild Card From Each Region. After three teams from each League have been advanced, the Teams remaining in each Region will be re-ranked in order of most points scored in the Round to fewest. The top Team in each Region will be advanced into the next Round.
- The remaining Teams that failed to advance into the next Round will be eliminated from the Tourney.
-
-
The Final Round. The Team that scores the most points in the final Round will be declared the champion of the Tourney. The remaining teams will be ranked in order of most points scored in the Round to fewest. Tiebreakers will be administered as detailed in the "Breaking Ties" section above.

-
-
Tourney Termination.
- If fewer than the maximum number of teams are entered into a Tourney, Sponsor reserves the right, but not the obligation, to proceed with a lesser number. In such cases, some (but not necessarily all) of the Leagues of 10 will be reduced to 9, 8 or 7 Teams per League in the first Round only. In all other respects, the process by which Entrants advance through the tourney and how winners will be determined will remain the same.
- If fewer than the minimum number of teams are entered into a Tourney, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Tourney before its start date. If a Tourney is terminated, all those entered or qualified for the Tourney as of the date of termination will receive dollar-value account credit equal to the amount of the Tourney's entry fee. In the case of the termination of a Big Tourney, those who entered Satellite Tourneys but failed to qualify for the terminated Big Tourney will not receive a credit.
- In the case of a Satellite Tourney or a Side Tourney, the Tourney will not start unless it is entirely full.
-
In the case of a Big Tourney, the minimum number of entries is determined by its maximum number of entries according to the following table. The maximum number of entries for any given Tourney is listed on the summary web page for that Tourney.
- 17,496 entries are required when the Tourney's maximum is 21,870 entries.

- 1,800 entries are required when the Tourney's maximum is 2,430 entries.
- 600 entries are required when the Tourney's maximum is 810 entries.
Prizes.
- Each individual Tourney has a prize payout structure ("Prizes"). The Prizes for one Tourney may differ from the Prizes for another Tourney. The Prizes for each Tourney are listed in detail in the "Prizes" tab on the summary web page for that Tourney.
-
Substitution; Taxes. No substitution, assignment or transfer of prizes will be permitted, except at Sponsor's sole discretion. THE WINNER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TAXES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE.
-
Verification. No prizes will be awarded until verification of winner eligibility has been completed to Sponsor's satisfaction. Sponsor shall solely determine any form of verification. Sponsor will not accept screen shots, affidavits or other evidence of winning in lieu of its validation process. Any entry that occurs after the system has failed for any reason may be deemed a defective entry and void.
-
Prize Notice.Winners will be notified via email. Entrants are responsible for insuring that all email information is up-to-date and accurate.
-
Claiming Prize.Potential cash prize winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where legally permissible, a Publicity Release within 7 days following the date of first attempted notification. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in forfeiture of the prize. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and its agencies to use winner's name and/or likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. By accepting a prize, winners agree to hold Sponsor, its respective directors, officers, employees, and assigns harmless for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the Promotion. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Promotion or in the announcement of the prize.

Limitations of Liability.
Sponsor is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment, hardware, software or programming associated or used with the Game; (2) technical errors, defects, delays or failures of any kind including, without limitation, malfunctions, interruptions or disconnections in communications lines, Internet or website access, hardware or software; (3) digital or electronic disruptions, e.g., viruses other security breaches; (4) unauthorized human intervention, e.g., hacking; (5) technical or human error which may occur in connection with any aspect of the Game; (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant's participation in the Promotion, access to, copying or downloading materials from Sponsor or any other website, or receipt or use of any prize.
