Bracket Basics: The events of one round

Each round typically begins the morning after the final game of the previous round and lasts about a week.

The following events make up one round of a tourney:

  1. The round begins.
  2. Salary values are adjusted for each player, based on season statistics and game situations.
  3. The lineup adjustment period begins.
  4. The lineup adjustment period ends five minutes before the first game is scheduled to start.
  5. The games are played.
  6. Teams are scored and ranked.
  7. Teams are advanced to the next round or eliminated from the tourney.
  8. The round ends.
